The president joked about tensions with the North American president: “If I fight and win, what am I going to do?”
The president (PT) said this Monday (9.Feb.2026) that he does not want a fight with the President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party). He declared the following in jest: “I don’t want to fight with him, I’m not crazy! I’ll fight and win, what am I going to do?”
The PT member stated that, if Trump “If you knew what Lampião’s bloodthirsty is in a president, you wouldn’t be provoking us”. He made the statements while participating in a visit to the Butantan Institute, in São Paulo.

Despite the talk about Trump staying “teasing”the Republican has not made recent statements about Brazil. Lula is the one who has cited him. on January 20th that the North American “want to rule the world through Twitter”. On Saturday (7.Feb), that Venezuela’s problems must be solved by Venezuelans, not by the USA or Trump.
Lula is due in March to meet with Trump. The PT member once again defended multilateralism this Monday (Feb 9): “We want to show that the world cannot do without multilateralism. We need to prove that it was multilateralism that created harmony between States.”
In the same speech, Lula also stated that the variation in the dollar “it depends on Trump’s mood” and which does not depend on the “seriousness of the economy” Brazilian.
SQUID IN BUTANTAN
This Monday (Feb 9), the government signed an investment of R$ 1.4 billion to expand and modernize the production of vaccines and serums at the Butantan Institute. Of the amount, R$1 billion is a contribution from the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) and R$400 million is from the Butantan Institute.

The money will be allocated to:
- construction of a vaccine factory against HPV (Human Papillomavirus) – one of the causes of cervical cancer;
- renovation of the vaccine production unit with messenger RNA technology;
- construction of a new factory for the production of IFA (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) for the vaccine against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis;
- renovation of the serum production building;
- creation of a new serum packaging and freeze-drying area;
According to the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, the investment puts the institute “among the largest innovation and industrial technology complexes in the world”.
The event also marks the beginning of vaccination of health professionals against dengue with the vaccine developed by the institute – Butantan-DV. According to the Ministry of Health, 3.9 million doses of the vaccine were purchased for the 1st phase of the campaign. The vaccine is expected to be distributed in all regions of Brazil.
