The Court suspended a fine imposed by the City Council due to the transport of passengers by motorcycle using the app.
In a decision published this Monday (9), judge Antonio Augusto Galvão de França, from the 4th Public Finance Court, understood that the penalty is based on a municipal decree that the class itself has already identified as infraconstitutional. The fine is R$500,000.
The decision is an asset for , which tried to stop the sport in São Paulo by enforcing a municipal decree from 2023.
However, in September 2025, the Special Body of the Court of Justice defined the decree as unconstitutional and stated that it is not up to the municipality to prohibit the modality, which could only be done by federal law.
