On February 1, a great sadness reigned in the family of the famous Slovak singer. Her beloved father Milan died unexpectedly. Even before Christmas 2025, the artist Janais was a guest in honor of Off Record with the musician Teri Čikoš on the web . Last year, the Slovak singer and songwriter celebrated the tenth anniversary of her extremely successful album Vianočná Janais. But after the joyful holidays came a crushing moment.
“Daddy left us forever. Suddenly, without saying goodbye. Brewed tea on the table, meat prepared for lunch in the kitchen… He went out to feed the animals and never came back. Life is so fleeting it’s scary and our grief so heavy, right we have been living in a fog for the last few days. Oh, dear mother, there is an unfillable void left behind you. Hopefully time will calm our sorrow and all of us who are left here after you will find peace again,” wrote a saddened Janais on Facebook to a photo with her father and a shot of his final resting place. Just a few days before the family tragedy, she took part in an event for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. With her husband in Pezinok, she accompanied the story of Denisa Nikodémová, who lost 42 family members, with songs. As a child, she had to identify her mother, shot by the Gestapo. In recent years, she has been traveling around Slovakia with her husband to tell her story to students.

Janais has been drawn to music since childhood, and already at the age of 6 she said she would be a singer. Competitions came, she went through folk songs and popular songs, and at the beginning of high school she started writing her own songs. She started her first band in college. Today, he has released 5 albums.
