The Polish government has established the Council of the Future, which is supposed to focus on speeding up decision-making processes in the field of economy, business and science. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced its creation at a press conference on Tuesday, saying that he had appointed Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domanský to lead the council. The Warsaw correspondent TASR informs about it.

According to the prime minister, the council aims to contribute to greater flexibility and modernization of procedures when making decisions on the country’s development. Tusk said that experts from the fields of science, modern technology, space research, defense industry, biotechnology and artificial intelligence, who can connect research with business and practice, will join the council. “We want to give all Poles a real opportunity to realize their ambitions here in Poland,” added Tusk.

When establishing the council, Minister Domanski declared that its goal will be to propose solutions and tools aimed at faster growth of the Polish economy. One of the first key topics should be technological sovereignty and strengthening the economy’s resistance to external threats. According to him, Poland wants to build its competitive advantages, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, space technologies, and biotechnology.

Domanski emphasized that today Poland is the twentieth largest economy in the world, but this success is not a matter of course, and the council will work to ensure that the country is able to assert itself in global competition and become a leader in innovation.
