Unfortunately, most people make an unforgivable mistake and pour the oil left after frying donuts or fries down the sink. Apparently nothing is happening. After all, the oil is liquid and flows freely into the drain. However, it is worth knowing that over time such actions will turn out to be costly.

Once oil or lard is poured into the drain, it will thicken and solidify in colder pipes. They will stick to the pipe walls, and other waste will also stick to them – crumbs, coffee grounds or food leftovers. Over time, there will be so much impurity that they will form a dense crust and clog the pipe. A blockage can stop the flow and even cause water to back up.

Pouring hot water down the drain will not stop the grease from solidifying. He will do it anyway, just a little further. Hot water will move the problem, but it will not eliminate it.

In larger cities, even huge traffic jams can occur, and getting rid of them takes a long time and, unfortunately, costs a lot. Similar procedures at home will also ultimately result in a visit from a plumber. A failure may occur when you least expect it. Therefore, it is worth avoiding such actions, for your own convenience and savings in the future.
