Replacing the SIRESP antennas destroyed by the storm will cost six million euros. The Minister of the Presidency acknowledged that there was a failure in the emergency communications network.
In the final minutes of this Wednesday’s parliamentary committee, practically all parties asked for explanations about the Government’s response during the storms and failures, specifically that of SIRESP, once again.
For the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, despite the lessons of the past during the fires and blackoutsit was impossible to control this problem. The focus is now on replacements, an investment that has since been approved by the executive.
Later this month, the working group that is evaluate the replacement of SIRESP must present the final conclusions of the study.
