The (São Paulo Legislative Assembly) have disturbed part of the bench that will seek re-election this year.
Today with 19 deputies, the party intends to convince at least four parliamentarians to join in March, during the party window.
The party will thus be responsible for half of governor Tarcísio de Freitas’ support base in the House. This is the way, according to PL leaders, of do Prado (PL), president of the House.
The party has been negotiating with state deputies Oseias de Madureira (PSD), Paulo Correa Júnior, Marcelo Aguiar (Podemos) and Eduardo Nóbrega (Podemos).
However, parliamentarians who are already from the PL and are seeking re-election, or plan to run for Congress, fear the congestion of members of the same party.
As an example, the possible affiliation of Correa Júnior, leader of the PSD, generated disagreements at this Tuesday’s bench meeting (10).
His electoral base is the coast of São Paulo, as do Paulo Mansur and Tenente Coimbra, both from PL.
There is also a fear even in May, among the candidates who in the previous election received less than 100 thousand votes.
Estimates made by PL members themselves point to a cutoff score of 70 thousand votes in this year’s election.
“[Os deputados] they are worried. But, the stronger the bench, the more deputies we will elect”, counters André do Prado.
