According to the senator, the businessman showed interest in providing clarification; hearing should take place after the Carnival holiday
Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL) told Bruno Pinheiro column this Thursday (12) that he spoke at least three times, in the last few days, with Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master. According to him, the businessman showed interest in providing clarifications to the Federal Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee (CAE). The hearing must take place after the Carnival holiday.
Renan said that the commission is already organizing the testimony and highlighted the limits and prerogatives of the collegiate. “We do not have police powers, but the law gives the commission powers to request information,” he said.
The senator reported that Vorcaro intended to testify this week, but the schedule was adjusted. “He wants to talk, he wanted to talk this week, but as he would have to come to Brasília twice, I agreed to do it next week.”
Renan also mentioned negotiations involving the minister of the Federal Supreme Court. “I discussed with Toffoli about him coming to Brasília. He comes to Brasília and stays at his house on the night of the testimony. He is under house arrest.”
The senator added that he discussed the logistics of the trip. “I talked to Toffoli so he (Vorcaro) could rent a flight and prove that he paid.”
When detailing recent contacts, he reinforced: “I spoke by phone at least 3 times in the last few days.”
Behind the scenes, the movement indicates that the CAE may take a leading role in investigating the case involving Banco Master in the coming weeks.
