Stale donuts will be fresh and soft. Just a few minutes is enough

During carnival, and especially on Fat Thursday, we eat . Once we turn on the pot with fat, we usually fry a larger amount of these high-calorie snacks. However, we don’t always want to eat them all at once. Thanks to the steam trick, the donuts will be soft and aromatic even the next day.

To refresh stale donuts, first pour a few tablespoons of water into a pan with a thick bottom.. When the liquid starts to boil, add the baked goods and cover the whole thing with a well-fitting lid. After about 3 minutes, the snacks will be refreshed.

Why does this home remedy work? Water vapor penetrates the structure of the mass and moisturizes it from the inside. Thanks to this, stale donuts soften quickly and remain fresh for a long time. For example, in the case of microwaves, this effect is temporary. After a while, the baked goods become hard as a rock.

However, we must remember that the icing from stale donuts will dissolve slightly and will probably penetrate the cake, but it will still taste good. It is best to shake off powdered sugar to avoid caramelization.

The filling in steam-refreshed donuts will be more liquid, but still tasty. Sweets taste best immediately after heating.

Thanks to water vapor, we will recreate their original structure. In turn, thanks to a short heat treatment, it will be closed inside. The whole process will take literally a few minutes, and the snacks will be as baked.

Remember, however, that the freshness of yeast dough, including donuts, also depends on how we store it.

First of all, let’s keep baked goods in a paper bag. We can also wrap them in a cotton cloth and place them in a slightly closed container.

Don’t keep donuts in the fridge. Room temperature and a place away from the sun are best for them. If we know we won’t eat them within 2 days, we recommend freezing them, wrapping each piece separately in foil and placing it in a bag.
