The joint elections to municipal self-governing bodies and elections to self-governing regional bodies will be held on Saturday, October 24 of this year. The date of the elections was announced on Tuesday by the Chairman of the National Council (NR) Richard Raši (Hlas-SD).
On one day, the voters will choose the mayor, respectively the mayor, deputies of the municipality, respectively the city council, as well as the chairman of the self-governing region and the deputies of the regional council. In the case of Bratislava and Košice, mayors of urban districts and members of local councils will also be elected.
Residents in almost 3,000 villages, towns and districts will vote. It is not possible to obtain a voting card for municipal elections. Voters will therefore be able to vote only in their place of permanent residence.
