The magic of baked feta pasta is that the cheese is baked together with tomatoes and olive oil until it is beautifully soft. Once you then mix it with hot pasta, it forms all by itself, no cream or thickening. It’s exactly the type of recipe that’s perfect for a weekday, but it’s also perfect for a weekend dinner.
Why this recipe works
You will especially like this cooking method when you come home tired and don’t feel like solving complicated procedures. The preparation takes a few minutes, and while the feta is baking in the oven, you can cook the pasta or sit down in peace. In addition, it is a recipe that can tolerate minor variations depending on what you have at home, but the base always works reliably.
“When I bake feta with tomatoes, I add a few olives or capers to the baking sheet a few minutes before the end. They give the sauce a more pronounced flavor and the whole dish gets a twist without any other complicated ingredients,” says chef David Šlapák.
Recipe for baked feta pasta
Raw materials:
- 200 g acid feet
- 500 g of cherry tomatoes
- 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic
- salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 400 g of pasta
- a handful of fresh basil or thyme
Procedure:
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Pour the cherry tomatoes into a baking dish or a deeper tray, add whole peeled garlic cloves, lightly salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Place a whole block of feta cheese in the middle and lightly pour oil over it.
Place the dish in the oven and bake for approximately twenty minutes, until the tomatoes begin to burst and the feta is soft and lightly golden. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in salted water according to package directions. Remove some of the cooking water before pouring.
After removing from the oven, mash the feta and tomatoes with a fork or wooden spoon and mix to create a creamy sauce. Add the cooked pasta, possibly a little cooking water, to make the sauce beautifully pliable. Finally, stir in the fresh herbs and add salt or pepper to taste.

It is quick, unpretentious and at the same time tastes so good that even those who otherwise do not believe in simple dishes will like it. Just a few ingredients, one baking sheet, and you have a dinner that looks much more festive than how much work it actually cost you.
