Just over half of Brazilians (53%) trust electronic voting machines, data collected between the 5th and 9th of February and released this Sunday (15th). Another 43% say they do not trust the polls.
Distrust is greater among evangelicals (52%) and voters who voted for the former president in the 2022 second round (69%). In the last years of the mandate, especially in the months leading up to the election that year, the reliability of the voting system was highlighted several times.
Among the right that today calls itself Bolsonarist, 77% distrust the polls, compared to 65% among the non-Bolsonarist right.
Distrust is also greater in the South (48%) and Central-West/North (48%) regions. In the Northeast region, 59% trust the polls, and in the Southeast, 54%.
The research was carried out with 2,004 Brazilians aged 16 or over, through home collection. The general margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus, within the 95% confidence level.
