The president of the Evangelical Parliamentary Front, federal deputy Gilberto Nascimento (PSD-SP), stated that the (PT), from the Acadêmicos de Niterói samba school, in the , had a criminal mockery against evangelicals.

“What worries me is the criminal debauchery, the mockery against the Christian faith. We will not accept people mocking the Christian faith, using culture to divide our people”, says Gilberto Nascimento.
“Democracy is not about humiliating those who think differently. It is about having respect, knowing how to get along. You cannot, with public money, go to the avenue and ridicule citizens who think differently”, he adds.
The former first lady () demanded a position from the Evangelical Parliamentary Front repudiating what she called mockery.
“The Christian faith was exposed to mockery in the name of culture disguised as politics. They say the country is secular, but secularism does not authorize mockery or humiliation,” he wrote on his social networks.

The president of the evangelical front also says that the Lula government should value evangelicals as “the segment that works most on social issues”. In his opinion, the parade helps to worsen the PT member’s bad image among religious people.
“People who watch end up connecting the two situations. The president’s advisors knew what was going to happen,” he says.
