ATTENTION: Inmet issues an orange alert for intense rain for 13 cities in Acre; know which ones

O Inmet emitiu dois avisos de chuvas intensas para o Acre, sendo um deles com grau de severidade classificado como perigo para 13 cidades.

The National Institute of Meteorology () issued two warnings of intense rain for Acre, one of them with a severity level classified as dangerous for 13 municipalities and the other of potential danger covering the entire state. The alerts began late this Tuesday morning (17) and remain valid until 10 am on Wednesday (18).

In the most severe warning, which starts at 11:30 am, the forecast is for rain between 30 and 60 millimeters per hour or 50 to 100 millimeters per day, in addition to intense winds between 60 and 100 km/h. There is a risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

The municipalities of Acrelândia, Bujari, Capixaba, Cruzeiro do Sul, Feijó, Manoel Urbano, Plácido de Castro, Porto Acre, Rio Branco, Santa Rosa do Purus, Senador Guiomard, Sena Madureira and Tarauacá are under danger alert.

The second warning, classified as potential danger and started at 11:20 am, is valid for the entire Acre. In this case, the forecast indicates rain of between 20 and 30 millimeters per hour or up to 50 millimeters per day, with winds of 40 to 60 km/h. The risk is considered low, but there is still the possibility of power outages, tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

Recommendations

Inmet advises that, in case of gusts of wind, the population avoids taking shelter under trees, due to the risk of falling and electrical discharges, and not parking vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs.

It is also recommended, whenever possible, to turn off electrical appliances and the general power supply. In the case of a warning of potential danger, the advice is to avoid using electronic devices connected to the socket.
