A man was acquitted and acquitted for tying up his son-in-law and beating him with lashes, in Iracê, in the interior of Bahia. The Jury Court voted for innocence, after the accused admitted that he committed the acts to protect his daughter, a victim of domestic violence.
The trial was carried out after a complaint from the Public Ministry of Bahia, which promoted the criminal action for , in addition to illegal possession of a firearm.
During the trial session held on November 14, 2025, after the debate phase between the prosecution and defense, the jurors answered a questionnaire and decided for acquittal of the accused.
Motivations
The crimes would have been motivated by family disagreements arising from alleged committed by the victim – in the criminal action – who was his son-in-law.
Despite the accusations, the Irecê District Sentencing Council decided to acquittal of the defendant of all conduct.
Given this sovereign decision, the judge formalized the sentence of unfoundedness of the complaintending the process without convictions.
The sentence granted freedom to the defendant and ordered the archiving of the files after the administrative procedures of the criminal action.
