American actor Eric Dane died this Thursday (19) at the age of 53. The artist announced, in April 2025, that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The information was reported by the magazine Peoplefrom the United States. The neurodegenerative disease affects motor neurons, which prevents the correct sending of commands from the brain to the muscles.

“He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” the family said in a statement sent to the magazine.

Eric Dane became known for bringing Mark Sloan to life in the series “Grey’s Anatomy”. The actor made a special appearance in the second season of the series, in 2006. Because fans liked the character, he became one of the main ones.

The actor left the series in 2012, with the death of Mark Sloan. Dane also starred in “Idas e Vindas do Amor”, “Marley e Eu” and “X-Man: Final Confronto”.

Recently, the actor was in the series “Euphoria”. In the first two seasons, Dane played Cal Jacobs, a character who gets involved with one of the protagonists, Jules.
