The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, spoke out this Friday (20) against the granting of humanitarian house arrest to former president Jair Bolsonaro. The reserve captain is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in a General Staff Room in the 19th Military Police Battalion of the Federal District, in Complexo da Papuda, the place is known as “Papudinha”.

In an opinion sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Gonet argued that the expert report on Bolsonaro’s health “was categorical in concluding that the comorbidities presented do not require assistance at the hospital level”. Thus, the PGR stated that it was viable to continue the former president’s medical treatment “in the current place of detention”.
