Just a week before his death, Christian Pilnacek asked the Ministry of Justice how much he was allowed to earn per month from a “sideline job”. The section head at the time had been suspended two years earlier and therefore earned less. Specifically, civil servants only receive two-thirds of their monthly salary if they are suspended.
