Drivers, beware: Ice and fog worsen road conditions

On Sunday morning, you have to watch out for ice and fog on the roads. Poľadovica is reported by the Slovak Road Administration (SSC) on its website zjazdnost.sk on roads in the Veľké Meder area. Watch out for icy snow on the Vrchslatina mountain pass and on third-class roads in the Trstená district. Fog with visibility up to 100 meters is in the locations of Nitra, Zavar, Jarovce, Rusovce, Uderiná, Čataj, Triblavina, Lenartov, Sereď and Zeleneč. Fog up to 50 meters is reported in Nové Zámky, Vráble and Gbelce locations.

The STVR green wave on the social network also informed about heavy ice on the Biela hora mountain pass. The section is difficult to drive even for cars, the mountain pass is impassable for trucks, you can go around via Buková, Prievaly and Cerová. Road users also note that the Príslop mountain pass is closed to vehicles longer than 12 meters. Snow chains are required for all vehicles on road II/584 Srdiečko – Bystrá. The SSC also reminds of falling rocks in the Donovaly and Šturec mountain pass section.

First, second and third class roads are passable on Sunday, the road surface is mostly dry to wet, sometimes wet. In more mountainous areas, fresh, slushy or compacted snow is sometimes found on the roads. Mountain passes are passable with restrictions, the road surface is mostly dry to wet. The Oravská Lesná crossing has a road surface covered with slushy snow.
