Fernando Diniz is no longer Vasco’s coach. The club announced the coach’s departure on Sunday night (22) after the 1-0 defeat in the first game of the Carioca Championship semi-final.
Assistants Ricardo Cobalchini and Evandro Fornari, and physical trainer Wagner Bertelli, also leave the club. Diniz arrived at Vasco in May 2025.
Despite having reached the final of the 2025 Copa do Brasil under the coach’s command, since the end of last season the team has not performed on the field, accumulating negative results.
The club has not yet announced Diniz’s replacement. Bruno Lazaroni takes over the team on an interim basis.
