A 28-year-old man, identified as Lucas Silva Souza, was injured after being struck by a knife during a robbery that occurred on Sunday night (22), on Avenida Amadeo Barbosa, in the Areal neighborhood, in the Second District of Rio Branco.
According to information provided by the police, Lucas owned and was returning home from church on a bicycle when he was surprised by two suspects on a motorcycle, near the roundabout located in front of a drug store. The passenger of the vehicle, armed with a knife, announced the robbery and demanded the victim’s cell phone.

According to reports, the young man reported that he did not have the device, at which point he got into a physical fight with the criminal and ended up being hit in the chest. After the attack, the pair fled the scene without taking any belongings.
Even though he was injured, Lucas managed to cycle to his residence, located on Rua Flamengo, in the Canaã neighborhood, where he asked family members for help.

Military police officers from the 2nd Battalion searched the region in an attempt to locate the suspects, but no one was arrested.
Initial investigations will be the responsibility of the Civil Police’s Ready Employment Team (EPE). Subsequently, the investigation will be conducted by the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
