Former banker Daniel Vorcaro, controller of Banco Master, indicated to senators from the Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) that he can give testimony via videoconference or in São Paulo. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday (24). The information is from Mônica Bergamo, from Folha de S. Paulo.
According to interlocutors, Vorcaro argued that the deadline is short to organize the logistics of the trip to Brasília. He uses an electronic ankle bracelet and cannot leave the city of São Paulo without judicial authorization.
In conversations with parliamentarians reported by the newspaper, the businessman reaffirmed that he intends to appear before the commission. As alternatives, he suggested carrying out the testimony remotely or postponing it until the end of this week or beginning of next. If the options are not considered viable, he indicated that he may travel to Brasília to present himself to the CAE.
Opportunity with security!
To date, there has been no formal request to the commission. The definition of the format of the statement must occur after any official communication.
Last week, the former banker chose not to appear before the INSS Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI). Although he was summoned, the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça decided that he had the right not to comply with the commission’s determination.
