Pastor Silas Malafaia stated that former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) would help more in the pre-presidential campaign of his brother, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), remaining “silent”. According to Malafaia, Eduardo is “talking nonsense” in the recent clash on social media with deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL).
For the pastor, Eduardo’s statements represent “immense political amateurism”. “By remaining silent, he will help his brother much more than opening his mouth to talk nonsense. If he remains silent, he will be a wonderful campaigner for his brother”, said Malafaia in an interview with Metropolises this Monday, the 23rd.
The religious leader also highlighted that Michelle is “suffering” because of the arrest of her husband, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The pastor argued that the former first lady deserves respect at this time.
The controversy between Bolsonaro supporters began after Eduardo Bolsonaro criticized Michelle and Nikolas. He stated that they were both “playing the same game” and suffering from “amnesia”.
“You see that one, side by side, shares the other and supports each other on social media. They just have ‘amnesia’, I don’t know why,” he said. “I haven’t seen any posts from Michelle in favor of Flávio. She shares Nikolas all the time. I don’t know what’s missing. That’s a question to ask her. I think the support is less than desirable,” he added.
Eduardo also declared that he was surprised by Nikolas’ statements in which the deputy defends a “right-wing project”, and not a specific project linked to Flávio. “I couldn’t understand it,” he said.

In response, Nikolas Ferreira said that Eduardo “is not well” and denied any “amnesia” on his or Michelle’s part, but reaffirmed support for Flávio.
“I’m used to beating myself up. They’ve been in this saga for over three years. But, you know, let Michelle live her ordeal”, he said. “So, I think Eduardo is not well. And I really make a point of not wasting my time with these disagreements, because I believe that we have a Brazil to save.”
Michelle did not respond directly to Eduardo’s statements. However, a post she made on social media was interpreted as indirect. The former first lady shared an image of banana slices on Instagram, mentioning that it was one of the meals prepared for her husband. “He loves fried bananas,” he wrote.
Eduardo, pejoratively nicknamed “bananinha” by critics, seemed to interpret the post as a provocation. He republished a follower’s tweet that said: “Continue frying bananas while Flávio and Eduardo are working hard to rescue the country.”
The president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, also commented on the episode this Monday, stating that there is no “split” in the party, because Michelle “doesn’t have time to do anything”.
“Michelle Bolsonaro doesn’t have time to do anything. She makes food for Bolsonaro in the morning and will take it at lunch time. Nobody wants to see her husband or father in the situation that Bolsonaro is in. That’s the big problem,” said Valdemar in an interview with journalists after the Grupo Esfera event, in São Paulo.
