After being fulfilled, the question that most people ask themselves is clear: When will a peace agreement finally be reached? that ends the armed conflict?
In that sense, the UN advisor, economist and professor at Columbia University (USA), Jeffrey Sachshas identified a series of European leaders as indispensable for .
In an interview in the Italian media Sachs has stated that “Meloni, Merz and Macron should tell the truth to the European people: Russia will not invade Europe. Peace with Russia through diplomacy is possible.”
In this regard, the UN advisor added that “Germany’s responsibility is the greatest. Germany promised Gorbachev and Yeltsin (in February 1990) that NATO would not move eastward. Then Germany and the US betrayed that promise.”
Regarding the most important points to achieve peace in the Ukrainian war, Jeffrey Sachs has pointed out that “key decisions are to clarify Ukraine’s neutralityresolve territorial issues and accept that British, French, German or other troops should not and will not be stationed in Ukraine after the war.”
“Russia will win the war”
Leaving aside diplomatic efforts to stop the war and referring to what is happening on the battlefield, Sachs has expressed that “The situation is such that, in my opinion, Russia will win the warin the sense that it will achieve its three objectives: control of the territory, Ukraine’s commitment to permanent neutrality and non-accession to NATO, and the absence of NATO troops stationed in Ukraine after the cessation of fighting.”
“Russia controls approximately 78% of Donetsk, 100% of Lugansk, 73% of Kherson and 76% of Zaporizhia.. He will probably conquer the rest of these provinces. And if a peace agreement is not reached, it is likely that it will continue to also conquer Odessa and perhaps other parts of Ukraine,” the UN advisor predicted.
