“The location for the helipad is not the best”, concluded the National Civil Aviation Authority, after several visits and technical meetings to Matosinhos Hospital.
In a document to which the Lusa agency had access, a ANAC recommends closing the heliport, due to obstacles that prevent changing the meaning in the approach channels, putting security at risk during takeoffs and landings.
The Aviation Authority says that “the ideal it would be the heliport now on the surface, to be elevated, 10 meters high“.
In the report, the risk management service from the local Health Unit of Matosinhos also proposes the temporary suspension.
It says that international standards have changed since the construction of the heliport and therefore the approach angle went from 8% to 4.5%.
