According to Arákčí, “very good progress” was achieved on the key issues of Iran’s nuclear program and on the issue of easing economic sanctions. While the White House remains tight-lipped on official statements, negotiators are already preparing for Monday’s technical talks in Vienna.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi described Thursday’s negotiations with the United States as one of the most intensive and longest so far. According to him, the parties have made “good progress” and the talks will continue, TASR writes, according to AP and AFP reports.

“Good progress”
“We have made very good progress and we have approached the elements of the agreement very seriously, both in the nuclear area and in the area of sanctions,” Arakhchi declared on Iranian state television after the Geneva negotiations. He added that Iran “has clearly expressed what must happen”.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busajdi said shortly before that the parties had made “significant progress” and would continue negotiations. “Discussions at the technical level will take place next week in Vienna,” he added.
The USA has not yet commented on the negotiations
The head of Iranian diplomacy confirmed the follow-up technical negotiations in Vienna and specified that they will begin on Monday at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). After their conclusion, another round of high-level negotiations should take place within a week.
The American side, represented by US President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, has still not commented on the negotiations. However, according to the Axios portal, envoys Witkoff and Kushner were “disappointed with what they heard from the Iranian delegation” after the morning block of negotiations.
