The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), minister Edson Fachin, requested this Thursday (26) that Congress and the federal government appoint representatives to the committee which was created to propose a transition regime for the payment of so-called penduricalhos.

On Tuesday (24), the Supreme Court and the Congress leadership took the first step towards regulating the payment of penduricalhos and decided to close an agreement to create transition rules for extra-cost funds. The proposal must be closed within 30 days.

Fachin sent letters to the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, and the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, in addition to the Ministers of Finance, Fernando Haddad, the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, and the Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck.

The tendency is for the agreement to be voted on by the Supreme on March 25th, When will the Court resume its judgment on the decisions that suspended the payment of penduricalhos in the Three Powers, benefits that are granted to public servants and that, added to the salary, they do not meet the constitutional salary ceiling of R$46,300.

In this Thursday’s session (26), the trial of the case began, but the ministers decided to postpone the vote to analyze the complexity of the issue.

On February 5th, Dino ordered the suspension of penduricalhos, which are not provided for by law. The decision must be applied by the Judiciary, Legislative and Executive powers, at the federal, state and municipal levels, which will have 60-day period to review and suspend payment of these compensation amounts that do not respect the ceiling.
