The President of the United States, Donald Trump, ordered this Friday (27) that all federal agencies “immediately cease” the use of technologies developed by Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup that rivals OpenAI.
In a post on the Truth Social network, Trump raised his tone against the company. “The left-wing crazies at Anthropic made a DISASTROUS MISTAKE by trying to BLACKBLACK the War Department into obeying their Terms of Use instead of our Constitution,” the president wrote.
Trump also stated that Anthropic’s stance threatens national security. “Their selfishness is putting AMERICAN LIVES at risk, our troops at risk and our National Security at RISK,” he added.

The order, announced amid an environment of growing tension between AI companies and the American government, directly affects ongoing contracts and projects with federal agencies.
The decision comes at a time when the Department of Defense is pressuring Anthropic to accept that its technology is used without the restrictions proposed by the company itself.
The startup seeks formal guarantees that its AI models will not be used in fully autonomous weapons or in mass surveillance schemes of the American population.
