The armed forces and Israel claimed to have identified missiles launched from Iran towards the country this Sunday (1).
Sirens sounded in central Israel following the military announcement. Israel’s Civil Defense Command sent a “precautionary directive directly to cell phones in affected areas” and warned citizens to seek shelter, the Army said.
Several loud explosions were also heard in Dubai and over the capital of Qatar, Doha, for the second consecutive day this Sunday (1).
Bahrain’s Ministry of the Interior reported in a publication that sirens were activated in the country on Sunday morning and warned residents to “remain calm and move to the nearest safe location”.
Photos geolocated by CNN show dense black smoke rising from a fire at Erbil Airport in Iraq. Iranian news agency Fars reported that loud explosions were heard in the Iraqi city on Sunday morning (1).
The attacks on neighboring countries come as a retaliatory measure by Iran against attacks by the USA and Israel against the Islamic Republic.
Iran said it would attack American bases in the region.
