Paramount Pictures released this Tuesday (2) the first official trailer for “Scary Movie 6”, and yes, it’s exactly the level of absurdity we expected (maybe even more).
Twenty-six years after fleeing an all-too-familiar masked killer, the iconic quartet is back together: Shorty (Marlon Wayans), Ray (Shawn Wayans), Cindy (Anna Faris) and Brenda (Regina Hall). And, of course, they are once again in the crosshairs of a criminal, because peace has never been an option for this group.
No terror is safe
In the sixth chapter of the franchise, the characters find themselves surrounded by killers, monsters and supernatural creatures while the plot does what it does best: make fun of absolutely everything.
Remakes? They saw it as a joke.
Endless sequences? Also.
Requels, prequels, spin-offs? Nobody escapes.
The proposal is clear: no horror cliché survives.
What’s more, the Wayans return not only in the cast, but also in the script. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez wrote the text, while Michael Tiddes directed it. It is produced by Miramax, Original Film and Wayans Brothers, with distribution by Paramount itself.
Reinforced cast
In addition to the main quartet, the film also features Chris Elliott, Lochlyn Munro, Heidi Gardner, Damon Wayans Jr. and Savannah Lee Nassif, among other names.
When does it debut?
Everybody in Panic 6 hits Brazilian cinemas on June 4th and promises to clean up current pop culture, in the most vulgar way possible.
