Measures were taken due to the lack of a health license in the canning factory and the use of ingredients without proven safety
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) determined, this Monday (2), the seizure of canned palm hearts from the Palmito Lemos brand ea sublingual melatonin suspension drops (passion fruit flavor) from the company Vita BE Cosmetics.
In the first case, the decision was made after an inspection of the company’s headquarters responsible, BR Indústria de Alimentos, located in Pariquera-Açu, in the interior of São Paulo.
During the visit, carried out on February 11th, it was found that the company operated without a health license e without proving good production practicesaccording to Anvisa.
With that, they were prohibited from commercializationa distributiona manufacturinga disclosure and the consumption of the company’s products.
In the second case, the food supplement from the company Vita BE Cosméticos had the marketinga distributiona manufacturinga importa propaganda and the suspended use.
The measure was adopted after the agency identified that the product was manufactured with a ingredient not evaluated for safety for sublingual use. Furthermore, the inspection found the airing unapproved allegations by Anvisa in advertising, as sleep regulation e insomnia prevention.
Estadão contacted both companies, but did not receive a response until the text was published. The space remains open.
