The month of March 2026 will not have national holidays or optional federal holidays, but it will have an important date on the calendar: International Women’s Day, celebrated on Sunday, March 8, is a state holiday.
The date was established as a holiday in the state through Law No. 1,411, of 2001, and reinforces the importance of valuing women and the fight for rights and equality.

Despite falling on a Sunday this year, which reduces direct impacts on public services and commercial activities, the holiday maintains its symbolic weight and is usually marked by tributes, events and mobilizations in several cities in Acre.
Other states also have their own dates
In addition to Acre, other Brazilian states will also have holidays or optional points in March. In Pernambucofor example, the holiday takes place on March 6, in celebration of the Pernambuco Revolution of 1817, considered the state’s Great Date.
Already in Ceará and no Amapálocal governments established optional points throughout the month.
In the general scenario, however, March will be marked by the absence of national holidays, which should result in a greater sequence of working days across the country.
