The open war in the Middle East is now entering a new chapter. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced this Monday the launch of counter-US bases in the region and against Israel, within the framework of the operation that Tehran has named True Promise 4. Hours later, Israel responded with a new wave of bombings on Beirut, focused on the infrastructure of the Shiite group Hezbollah.
According to the Iranian statement, a dozen drones hit the US naval base in Arifjan, in Kuwait, while another attack targeted “one of the concentration points” of US forces in Dubai. Tehran assures that casualties are expected, although no official figures have been confirmed.
Iranian state television also broadcast images of alleged missile attacks against the air base. Muwaffaq Salti, in Jordan, and against Tel Aviv. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed having identified missiles launched from Iran towards Israeli territory, although they noted that the defensive systems were operational and that, for the moment, no impacts or victims had been reported.
The Gulf under pressure
