US Embassy in Riyadh attacked by drone

A fire broke out in the early hours of this Tuesday (3, local date) at the American embassy in the capital of Saudi Arabia after an attack with two drones, informed the kingdom’s Ministry of Defense. “The American embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, which caused a limited fire and minor material damage to the building,” said a spokesperson for the Saudi ministry.

Several witnesses told AFP that they saw smoke over the building. A source close to the Saudi Army told AFP, on condition of anonymity to be able to address this sensitive topic, that its air defense intercepted four drones that were targeting Riyadh’s diplomatic quarter.
