‘It won’t be a walk’, says Celso Amorim about conflict in the Middle East

In a conference at UFRJ, the ambassador said that hostilities in the region are expected to last for a while

The special advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, the ambassador Celso Amorimspoke out on Monday (2) about the situation in the Middle East after the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran. In a conference at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the chancellor said that o conflict “will not be a walk”.

“Of course, no war is a walk in the park. But it won’t be a war, I believe, as the invasion of Iraq was to a certain extent, which [foi] quickly and then had other consequences”, declared Amorim.

According to the ambassador, the conflict must last for a while. Amorim also stated that hostility in the Middle East represents profound transformations in the world of economic and social order which end up leading to leaders reacting to the way they are seen.
