The Iranian general threatened: We will attack all the economic centers of the Middle East

Iranian General Sardar Ebrahim Jabbari on Tuesday threatened to attack “all economic centers” of the Middle East if US-Israeli attacks continue. Referring to the Iranian news agency ISNA, this was reported by the AFP agency.

Jabbari, who is a general of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, drew attention to the economic consequences of the continuation of the war. He reminded that Iran already “closed the Strait of Hormuz”which caused that the price of oil has exceeded 80 dollars per barrel and, according to him, may soon reach 200 dollars.

The military escalation between Israel, the US and Iran in recent days has significantly affected the economic interests of countries in the region. The Middle East is key for world oil trade and any threat to close the Strait of Hormuz or attacks on economic centers they can cause energy prices to rise and disrupt the global supply of goods.

The escalation of the conflict followed Israeli-American strikes on Tehran, including targets linked to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who died in the attack. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on military and civilian targets in Israel, Jordan and the Gulf monarchies.

The impact of this war conflict on the prices of energy carriers was also recognized by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday. Paccording to him, oil and gas prices will rise as long as the United States remains involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. At the same time, however, he declared that after the end of the war, prices will fall or will “even lower than ever.”
