National president of Novo, Eduardo Ribeiro reacted to statements by the main leader of the PSDB in Minas Gerais, Cássio Soares, that the presence of a deputy from the party on the ticket is not guaranteed.
“We have a political agreement with the PSD signed at the governor’s desk. If the agreement is broken, Zema will support another candidate [ao governo]”, says Ribeiro.
Soares’ statement was made in conversation with journalists at an event in Belo Horizonte on Monday (2). According to him, there is no point in having a “perfect ticket, but one that comes out defeated”.
Simões, Zema’s current deputy, has been nodding to the PL, . In April, he will take over the government with the resignation of the incumbent to run for President.
A former member of Novo, Simões left the party last year with the speech that the PSD would have a better structure to contest the government. In return, his old caption would indicate the vice president.
