Prints of conversations released by lawyers for the family of military police officer Gisele Alves Santana, aged 29, show that the Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Neto claimed to have access to his wife’s social media. During the conversations, the PM questions another boy about why he would be talking to his wife. “So my friend, get your bearings!”wrote Geraldo.
The man tries to justify himself to the lieutenant by saying that he was Gisele’s cousin and that they had known each other for about 15 yearsbut is reprimanded with another message saying that It wasn’t supposed to be a conversation on any subject.

Remember the case
Gisele Alves Santana was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head on January 18, in his apartment in the Brás neighborhood, in the capital of São Paulo. The case was initially registered as a suicide, but was treated by the Civil Police as .
The main target of the investigation is the victim’s husband, Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Neto, who at the corporation last Tuesday (3).
The change in the nature of the crime occurred after reports that Gisele lived in a troubled and abusive relationship with Geraldo.
In testimony, the victim’s mother, Marinalva Vieira Alves, reported that the officer imposed severe restrictions on his daughterforbidding her to wear lipstick, high heels and perfume, in addition to demanding strict compliance with various household tasks.
The psychological pressure, according to the family, even involved emotional blackmail. The mother reported that, when Gisele expressed her desire to separate, Geraldo sent a photograph in which he appeared with a gun pointed at his headmaking her give up on the breakup.
Days before her death, the police officer called her father, crying a lot and stating that she could no longer take the pressure, asking him to come and pick her up at home. However, she changed her mind soon after, claiming the couple were still talking about splitting.
The husband’s version and allegations of betrayal
In his defense, the lieutenant colonel reported that he met Gisele in 2021, they began their relationship in 2023 and made their marriage official in 2024. Gisele had a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, whose expenses, such as school, Geraldo claims to have assumed.
According to the officer, the conflicts intensified after his transfer to the 49th BPM/M (Metropolitan Military Police Battalion). He claims to have been the target of retaliation and anonymous complaints to the Internal Affairs Department, which accused him of having extramarital relationships while on duty.
Geraldo also says that his images had been tampered with artificial intelligence and that Gisele started receiving messages from fake profiles about alleged betrayals.
Fights motivated by jealousy became constant, causing the couple to sleep in separate rooms since August.
The day of death
On the morning of the 18th, Geraldo claims to have decided to end the marriage. At around 7am, he reports having gone to Gisele’s room to announce the separationat which point she would have reacted in an excited manner, expelling him from the place and slamming the door.
Afterwards, he says he went into the bathroom to take a shower and, about a minute later, he heard a shot. When he left, he found his wife lying on the floor, bleeding from the head and holding the gun, which was usually kept on the bedroom closet.
Geraldo called the rescue team and the Military Police, in addition to calling a judge friend. Gisele was rescued by the Águia helicopter and taken to Hospital das Clínicas, where she died.
While the victim was still being rescued, the officer requested authorization from his superiors to enter the apartment again and take a shower.
The request was initially denied but later authorized. When asked about his attitude, Geraldo explained that he would be away from home for a long period of timemoving to different places, which is why he needed to wash and change his clothes.
Progress of investigations
To clarify the circumstances of the death and investigate the versions, the Civil Police carried out the in the couple’s apartment, last Monday (2).
Authorities also seized at the scene a .40 caliber pistol, ammunition, chargers, three cell phones and the shorts that the officer was wearing before taking a post-crime shower. The item of clothing will undergo forensic examination.
The SSP (Public Security Secretariat) reported that the investigation continues in detail and awaits the conclusion of expert reports to determine the next steps in the case.
