Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard of the Islamic Republic declared, this Thursday, the Strait of Hormuz, between the Persian and Oman gulfs, under its control and that any ships outside the protocol will be sunk.
O Strait of Hormuz is a chokepoint at the entrance to the Persian Gulf, controlled by Iran.
“The Strait of Hormuz is closed. If anyone tries to get through, the heroes of the Revolutionary Guard and regular navy will set these ships on fire”, the same entity had threatened this Monday.
Already this Thursday, the Revolutionary Guard warned that the ships outside the protocol in Hormuz will be sunk.
“In accordance with international laws and resolutions in times of war, Traffic rules through the Strait of Hormuz are under the control of the Islamic Republic“, said Brigadier General Kiumars Heidarideputy commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya base, the unified central command of the Iranian armed forces, told local television.
The military official stressed that any breach of standards by the vessels crossing the area may result in them being “attacked and sunk”.
Iran complains about attack on US oil tanker
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said this Thursday that an Iranian missile hit a US oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. According to the Iranian guard, the ship was hit by a missile in the north of the Persian Gulf and is on fire.
