Deputy charges Tarcísio government with data leaks – 03/06/2026 – Panel

He presented two requests for information to management (Republicans) to explain accusations of failures in digital security and data leaks from Prodesp and .

The deputy questions what measures the water and sewage company, privatized in 2024, took after suffering cyber attacks in October 2024.

In another request, Souza addresses the possible leak of 2 million facial photos linked to CPFs stored by Prodesp. A report by Fórum magazine published on February 12th says that data linked to the agency was put up for sale on the internet.

“We are not talking about isolated cases. We are talking about a pattern of disregard for the population’s sensitive data. Digital security is public policy, it is the protection of rights and cannot be treated as an administrative detail”, says the deputy, who will be part of the CPI that will investigate data leaks in public companies.

To the Panel, Prodesp says that there was no invasion, data leak or any compromise of its operational bases. “The information cited in the report does not correspond to nor is it related to the databases managed by the company”, he says.

Sabesp states that “the disclosure of a small amount of information compatible with the company’s database, classified as non-sensitive under data protection legislation, was identified on the internet.”

The company says that it has contacted the National Data Protection Authority (ANP) and that it maintains a team specialized in information security.
