Dubai Airport is attacked by drones; flights were suspended






A drone attack attributed to Iran near the main terminals of Dubai International Airport led to the temporary suspension of flights this Saturday morning, March 7. According to news agencies, flights have already resumed.

Dubai Media Office reported that, “for the safety of passengers, airport employees and airline crews”, operations at Dubai International (DXB) have been temporarily suspended.

Dubai authorities have not yet said whether there was damage to the airport or interception of the drones. The airport receives the largest flow of passengers on international flights in the world. The government reported that it activated air defense systems.

The attack comes a day after Iran’s interim leadership council approved a directive that neighboring countries will not be targeted unless attacks against Iran are launched from those territories.
