Todd Meadows, flight attendant from the popular reality show Deadliest Catch, died on February 25, 2026 after falling overboard under unexplained circumstances Aleutian Lady in the Bering Sea. According to the newspaper, the US Coast Guard is officially investigating the man’s death.
The exact course of the incident was brought closer by the state authorities. “On February 25, 2026 at 5:05 p.m. Alaska time, Coast Guard personnel at the Arctic Circle Command Center in Juneau received a report from the fishing vessel Aleutian Lady that a crew member named Todd Meadows had fallen overboard approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor,” said a representative of the US Coast Guard in an official statement.
His colleague and roommate from the cabin, Trey John Green III confirmed that the tragedy occurred while fishing for crabs off the coast of Alaska. According to him, the crew desperately tried to do everything to save him, but he emphasized that the fight for life in harsh conditions on the open sea is extremely difficult.
Although Meadows was pulled from the freezing water approximately ten minutes after the fall, he became unresponsive and subsequent resuscitation was unsuccessful. From the scene of the tragedy, the body of the deceased was headed to Dutch Harbor, from where it was airlifted to Anchorage for a forensic autopsy. According to official records, authorities released the man’s remains to the grieving family on Monday, March 2.
The tragedy occurred during the filming of a successful fishing show. “Discovery has already finished filming, but for the last two months a producer and a cameraman were on board filming the 22nd season of the show. Unfortunately, it was caught on camera. There is also an on-board camera that records everything 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – and it also captured the entire course of the incident.” Green explained.
He reacted to the tragic loss Captain Rick Shelford, who called the fateful moment the blackest day in the vessel’s history. “Todd was the newest member of our crew, but he quickly became part of our family. His love of fishing and strong work ethic immediately earned him the respect of everyone around him. His smile was infectious and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck speaker is something we will carry with us forever.” he confessed on Instagram.
