O Flamengo Regatas Club won this Sunday (8) the title of Carioca Championship after winning the Fluminense Football Club in the final played in a single game in Maracanã Stadiumno Rio de Janeiro.
The decision is over tied 0-0 in regular timetaking the dispute directly to penalties. In the charges, Flamengo got the better of it and won by 5 a 4guaranteeing the state trophy.

The highlight of the final was the Argentine goalkeeper Agustín Rossiwho saved two kicks in the dispute and helped secure the red-black victory.
With the victory, Flamengo reached the 40th Carioca Championship titlefurther expanding its lead as the competition’s greatest champion. The triumph also represented the club’s third consecutive state championship.
