The main fight of the event will bring together the linear lightweight champion, Ilia Topuriaand the interim champion of the category, Justin Gaethjein a fight to unify the 70 kg belt.
For Poatan, the dispute represents the chance to win a 3rd title in different divisions in the UFC. The Brazilian was already middleweight champion in 2022 and light heavyweight champion from 2023 to 2025, before giving up the belt to try the feat at heavyweight.
If he beats Gane, Poatan could become the first fighter in the organization’s history to win belts in 3 different categories. The Frenchman, former interim champion, was the last challenger to the Briton’s title Tom Aspinall.
The card will also feature clashes between Sean O’Malley e Aiemann Zahabi in bantamweight, Mauricio Ruffy contra Michael Chandler at lightweight, Bo Nickal before Kyle Daukaus at middleweight and Diego Lopes contra Steve Garcia at featherweight. Current heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall still has no plans to return after suffering an eye injury in his last fight.
