Higher security, low latencies and a completely new frequency spectrum: WLAN via light, called “Li-Fi”, brings with it some promises. But the development and introduction of a new communication standard, for which you also have to do some convincing, is not easy. Almost 14 years have now passed since the founding of the company behind it, pureLiFi, which emerged from the University of Edinburgh.
