Donald Trump pays homage to soldier
Shortly before, the Pentagon had declared in a statement: “We are just beginning the fight”. Iran leaves threat.
The American President, Donald Trump, stated on Monday that the war against Iran is practically over, given the level of destruction achieved by attacks against the Islamic Republic.
“I think that the war is practically over“, said the North American President in statements by telephone from Miami, Florida, just over a week after the start of the military campaign, together with Israel, against the Iranian regime.
Trump argued that the strikes left the Islamic Republic without a navy, “communications” or an “air force,” so the objectives set for the mission are “far ahead” of the previously mentioned four- to five-week timeframe. “If you look closely, There is nothing left for them at the military level”.
Shortly before, the Pentagon had declared in a statement: “We are just beginning the fight”.
Low oil
In the conversation with CBS, Donald Trump also said that he was “considering taking over the control” a strategic waterway for global trade and oil, where traffic has virtually stopped due to conflict, leading to escalating fuel prices.
Trump, announced that he will suspend some sanctions on oil “to lower prices”, after the value of a barrel of crude had soared due to the war with Iran.
The US President’s statements, suggesting an imminent cessation of hostilities, caused oil prices plummeted and stock markets soared instantly.
On Tuesday morning, a barrel of Brent cost 75 euros – when, the day before, he arrived at 94 euros, highlights the .
“Until it’s over, during this brief period of disruption, the United States will offer political risk insurance to all oil tankers operating in the Gulf. We will provide them with insurance, we will escort them if necessary, but I don’t think that will be necessary. If Iran does anything, the consequences will be incalculable,” Trump commented.
In relation to the markets, the New York Stock Exchange, Wall Street, reversed a sharp decline and closed in alta: the selective Dow Jones index rose 0.50%, to 47,740.80 points, the technological Nasdaq index rose 1.38%, to 22,695.95 points, and the more comprehensive S&P 500 index, rose 0.83%, to 6,795.99 points. At the start of the session, all three major indices had fallen more than 1%.
“Much more strength”
Nonetheless, Tehran threatens to prevent oil tankers from sailing to US-allied countries.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that Iran will not allow the export of oil produced in the region to countries allied with the United States and Israel while the war in the Middle East continues.
Donald Trump threatened to attack Iran “much, much harder” if the Islamic Republic blocks oil supplies from countries in the Middle East.
“I will not allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage and try to stop the global oil supply. And if Iran does something like that, it will be hit much, much harder”, assured the US President at a press conference in Florida.
“If they want to play this game (…) they better not play it,” Trump added.
“Small excursion”
Hours later, in a speech in Miami, Donald Trump described the war with Iran as a “short tour”, in a speech where he mentioned, however, that the US “will not stop” until the enemy is “totally and decisively defeated”.
“We are counting the minutes until they are all gone. There were leaders, and they were gone. Then new leaders came, and they were gone, and no one has any idea who the people will be who will lead the country, and we will not stop until the enemy is completely and decisively defeated“, declared the President of the USA.
The President, who classified the war as a “little excursion”, insisted to his party’s congressmen that the United States and Israel, after more than a week of war, “completely destroyed” Iran’s drone and missile capabilities.
Donald Trump also guaranteed that the world will be “safer” following the joint US and Israeli military offensive.
nuclear weapons
The president of the United States claimed that the war with Iran began because the country was beginning to construction of a new site for the development of material for nuclear weapons.
Trump said at a press conference that Iran had a new site to develop nuclear weapons protected by granite, to replace the facilities bombed last year by the US.
“But they were starting work in another place, a different place, a different kind of place — and that one was protected by granite,” Trump said.
The President added that Iran wanted to use the “growing threat of ballistic missiles to make it virtually impossible to prevent them from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”
