According to information from maritime safety authorities, the impact caused a fire on board and led to the evacuation of the crew. There was no immediate confirmation of casualties or details about the origin of the projectile.
The incident occurred close to the strait that connects the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean and which concentrates a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas flow.
