After more than a decade growing with solutions for energy securityTecnogera entered a new strategic cycle. The change began in 2021, when founder Abraham Curi repurchased the stake of an investment fund that had entered the company years before.
At the time, the company had revenues of around R$90 million. Today, the number reaches around R$750 million. The turning point came from a new bet, electrification. According to him, the accumulated experience supplying energy to critical customers has placed the company in a privileged position to explore the energy transition.
“I realized that we could go much further than energy security. We spent 15 years forming a very robust portfolio based on reliability and criticality”, said Curi in an interview for the podcast From Zero to Topwhich tells stories of successful entrepreneurs.

Bet on electrification
The most relevant strategic move was the entry into the electrical equipment market. The company started to offer lifting platforms and other machines powered by lithium batteries, replacing equipment that previously ran on diesel.
“Everything is becoming electrified, from vehicles to machines. Tecnogera offers the market equipment that until then was gasoline or diesel. We managed to find our angle on the energy transition, which is to offer this customer electrical equipment using lithium batteries”, says the founder.
Right at the beginning of the new strategy, the company purchased around 3 thousand pieces of equipment. The market response, according to him, was quick.
“The first doubt we have when we talk about electrification is the electrical insecurity, of the infrastructure. Where am I going to carry this? And that’s exactly what we were already doing. So, things had a very positive match there”, he concludes.
Today, the company positions itself as one of the largest in Latin America in the electrical equipment segment. Currently, around 60% of the company’s revenue still comes from the traditional area of energy security, while 40% is already linked to the new business.

“Our objective is to leave the company prepared for all growth alternatives, whether organically, via acquisitions or capital markets”, explains Curi.
