Raízen’s request for extrajudicial recovery, to renegotiate around R$65.1 billion in debt, does not directly affect the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), the institution said in a note.
“BNDES financing for the aforementioned company has a real guarantee, which is the plants themselves. Therefore, as informed by the company itself, they will continue to be paid normally”, says the statement.
Last year, the bank approved financing of R$1 billion for the company to build a new ethanol plant.
“BNDES is committed and committed to finding the best solution to the company’s financial crisis”, the note continues.
The institution highlights that it has one of the lowest default rates in the financial system, at 0.008%, the result of solid governance.
Next Tuesday, the 17th, the bank will release its financial results and operational performance for the year 2025. A press conference will take place at 11 am, at the institution’s headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
