The US Treasury Department has issued a license authorizing the sale, until April 11, of Russian crude oil and derivatives loaded on ships before 12:01 am on March 12 (Thursday).
“This measure of short term, carefully adapted, applies only to oil already in transit and will not bring significant financial benefits to the Russian Governmentwhich obtains most of its energy revenues through taxes collected at the point of extraction”, explained Scott Bessent, US Treasury Secretary.
